55+ Travel Club

Hey 55+ Travellers!
One of the things we’ve learned about our readers is the vast majority of them LOVE to travel.  Unfortunately, many find it difficult to follow their passion for travel due to the lack of a travel partner. So along with providing information about travel destinations,  the 55+ Travel Club is a place where those without travel partners would have an opportunity to meet potential travel buddies. Whether you are looking for your next travel destination or want to hook up with a travel buddy, we’re excited to have you join us for your next adventure. 

In person travel club events take place several times a year in Victoria and Vancouver, and occasionally in Nanaimo. Join our newsletter and we’ll sent a note to your email inbox when we have news to share.

SPECIAL INSPIRED TRAVEL WITH THE PUBLISHER
Are you interested in travelling with INSPIRED Magazine Publisher Barbara Risto? Planning is underway for a 2026 trip. Once we have more details, we will announce the trip in the travel club newsletter.

BUDDY BRUNCHES
Several times throughout the year, Barbara will host an event at a restaurant for club members who want to connect with travel buddies. This usually is a brunch event where every participant is expected to purchase a meal and beverage to consume while we engage in fun conversation with other participants. Over the course of several years numerous attendees have hooked up with travel companions and travelled the world. Whether you are single or in a relationship where your partner doesn’t want to travel or isn’t able to, we welcome you to join us if you are looking for someone to provide companionship and share costs. Club members are notified by email when a buddy brunch is being planned. We host events in Victoria and Vancouver.

NANAIMO EVENTS
We have hosted events in the Nanaimo area, but due to lower participation, we don’t host as many events there as we do in Victoria and Vancouver. Still, we plan to occasionally host an event in this area if we have enough interest.
