When asked what they’d like to do, most people over the age of 55 will tell you they want to travel more.
As someone who worked during high school so I could study and travel throughout Europe upon graduation, the love of travel was birthed early and has never left even though certain responsibilities curbed it at times.
Inside us, it seems, is a pent-up desire to experience the world first-hand, in real-time.
Travel is unique and diverse. It offers something for every personality. Here are a few different travel styles to consider.
Classic – This kind of traveler wants to experience all the must-see sights in an area, taste the local cuisine, and stay in comfortable centrally located hotels. The style of travel is often a good way to introduce yourself to a new country or region.
Exploration – This traveler isn’t afraid to venture off the beaten path to savour unique cultural experiences, rub shoulders with the locals and experience life from a different perspective through the eyes of the area’s inhabitants. Dig a little deeper into a culture in the safety of a well planned and chaperoned tour.
Spotlight – This traveler will unpack their suitcase once and really immerse themselves in an iconic venue. Become one with the vibe, the ebb and flow of the city at work and play. Really get to know their neighbourhood. This traveler likes to know they are coming home every night to the same bed after a day of sights.
Impact – This type of traveler likes to make a difference by working alongside members of the local community to help bring about positive, sustainable change. They want to give back in a way that benefits others who may be a little less fortunate.
Cruising – Whether river or ocean, cruise travel brings the comfort of your hotel room with you to every port. Enjoy your fellow travelers, savour bountiful buffets and quality entertainment, and revel in a new city at every stop. Watching the idyllic scenery slide by your stateroom window is a relaxing way to see the world.
