TESTIMONIALS

“The Single Seniors group organized by Len Johnson and sponsored by Inspired Senior Living Magazine and Publisher Barbara Risto has been a godsend in my life. Although I have many good friends, they all seem busy with partners and/or grandchildren, neither of which I have. The group is lively, enthusiastic, upbeat and friendly. With Len’s great organizing skills and input from the participants themselves, we now have a whole bunch of varied activities planned for July through September. My calendar is now full, with all sorts of exciting events to look forward to!”   – Barbara

“I was referred to this group by an acquaintance and it has been such a wonderful group to be part of. I have really enjoyed the coffee time get togethers and think it is so wonderful that Len Johnson has taken on the organizing of this group. It certainly gives us, as newly single or those of us who have been single for a while, a new focus to make sure we get out and about and not becoming a shut in.”    – Jan

“I attended the Single Seniors Meet and Greet at its inception and have personally found it a valuable resource for convivial social interaction, eclectic events and explorative outings. It is a vibrant, energetic group with numerous ideas/plans and enthusiastic participation. I commend Len, the organizer, for his tireless efforts, research into prospective destinations and events, interactive rapport with attendees, encouraging input and ideas, and overall efficient management and direction.  It is vital to form and maintain peer connections at this stage of life and I therefore wholeheartedly support and highly recommend this group.  It is emphatically a benefit and enhancement to Victoria’s senior community.”   – JoAnne

“My life was very much down but after talking with [Len] I found out that [there are] many people… going through the same thing as I. You not only lose a partner but friends seem to go their own way. [Len] works hard to find things to do that we all like. Travel and being with other people are the bonds between us. Last Saturday (trip to Lavender Festival in Sequim) we all had a good time. I am looking forward to the next meeting knowing I will be met with smiles and happy faces. My life for sure has changed the last 2 months.”  – Kari

“Len Johnson is a phenomenal organizer and generally scopes out venues before suggesting an event for the entire club. This is an excellent group to enjoy functions with and for making friends within the group. It certainly has opened up my world since joining. There are meetings once a week plus several events each month ranging from dinners to day trips, and overnight trips. Basically something for every income level to enjoy.”   – Jaline

“When I read the item in INSPIRED Senior Living magazine regarding a new single seniors group starting up I immediately responded. That’s what I was looking for. Stuff to do with people my age. Len is the drive behind this successful group and the email newsletter is packed with upcoming events and [reports on] past events. I plan to join in for day trips, island get-aways, musical events, walks, happy hours, dinners and more. (Other travel is in the planning stage.)  It’s great and I’m happy I joined. With growing interest in this group a more private venue where conversations are easier will be needed.”   – Susan

“Kudos to Len for all the hard work and dedication he provides to the Seniors Group! He makes it a lot of fun for senior singles to meet, greet and have fun… and most of all laugh and enjoy our beautiful BC and beyond.”   – Linda
