HOW SENIOR BUYERS ARE AFFECTING YOUR INDUSTRY

Senior Living has researched a number of industries to find out how companies in these industries are promoting themselves to the senior market, and how the senior market is responding. Find out more about what industries (like Automotive, Cosmetics, Finance, Housing, Travel etc.) are doing to capture the growing senior consumer market.

PROMOTE YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH EDITORIAL

Is a display ad enough to convey your message to readers?  Often it is, but some businesses feel they would like to complement their ad with some editorial. Senior Living offers several ways you can do this.  Ask A Professional is an online option offered on the Senior Living website that permits advertisers to write a series of articles about their business, its products and services, or about their particular industry in general for posting on the Senior Living website at http://www.seniorlivingmag.com/ask-a-pro. In addition to the online posting, each article will be included in the Senior Living Readers Newsletter, emailed once a month to subscribers. Ask A Pro is promoted in every issue of Senior Living as well. We'd love to give you more information about this opportunity.

Recently, Senior Living launched a NEW advertising option called the Business Profile. Advertisers can purchase editorial space in Senior Living magazine of a half page, two-thirds page or full page. Adding a business editorial to your advertising campaign provides readers with much more information than they would glean from a standard display ad, written in a way that is informative and enjoyable to read. Senior Living will assign a writer to interview you and take photos, and will design the resulting editorial and images into an attractive feature in the magazine. Business Profiles can be purchased on their own, or added to display ad campaigns. If you are interested in having Senior Living write about YOUR business, contact us for details about this and other value added campaign packages.

SENIOR LIVING IS FEATURED ON 'THE COLBERT REPORT'

We finally hit the big times! Well, sort of. On October 12, our 2009 Vancouver Senior Living cover appeared in a cameo on The Comedy Network's The Colbert Report. The host took tongue-in-cheek aim at Andy Rooney's recent declaration to lose 20 pounds by Halloween.  In jest, the host compared Andy to the person on the cover of Senior Living magazine. It was about 5 seconds of fame, but we got a real chuckle out of the whole episode.  When you watch the clip, look for us near the end.

GO A FAR AS YOU CAN SEE

You must be clear about your goal but be flexible about the process of achieving it, says reknown motivational speaker and business entrepreneur Brian Tracy. No matter how well you plan and organize in advance, unforeseen circumstances will force you to revise your plans over and over again. But you must be prepared to take the first step.

Fortunately, you can always see far enough to take the first step. Nature is a joker in this sense, holding a blanket over the path. Once you decide upon a goal or destination, Nature will move back and show you the first step. This is a test. Nature determines whether you are really serious or not by showing the first step.

When you step out in faith, even though you can see only a single step ahead, Nature will conclude that you are serious. She will then move back and reveal the next step. And when you take that step, Nature will move back again and show you one more step. You will always be able to see one more step, and when you take it, you will see far enough to go further.
