4 Irresistible Holiday Appetizers

I still feel like a kid every time the holidays come around. There always seems to be an electricity in the air as soon as the Christmas lights start their steady strobes and the grass crystallizes with sugary frost. And as an excited child, I have always looked forward to heading home to my family's place for the holidays – where my siblings and I are wined and dined like Hansel and Gretel at the Witch's house – exactly what the holiday season is supposed to be about, right?

As an attempt to really give back to my parents this year, I've taken up a new challenge, nominating myself to be in charge of appetizers. Now, many would say that this is a hasty decision as I don't really cook much above the quality and effort that it demands to put together a quick stir fry or instant spaghetti – but my (possibly ignorant) ambition will not waver. An easy way out would be the classic cheese and veggie platter, but I really want to do the spoiling this year with healthy and tasty treats as my arsenal.

After a few searches online, I have finally assembled my menu of easy-to-do, but impressive nonetheless, appetizers for this holiday celebration. If you have any of your own that you would like to share, visit our Facebook page and feel free to post them or you can email me at steffany@seniorlivingmag.com and I will share it with our readers. HOLIDAY BRIE EN CROUTE

This delicious recipe represents everything that is good in the world of food: cranberry and almond infused brie, snuggled inside a golden brown pastry shell, begging to ooze out. This is sure to put to shame any cheese and veggie platters that are brought to your celebration!

Thanks Donna! Our new website should be launching soon and I am planning on creating a whole new section specifically for recipes - hopefully where readers feel comfortable with sharing their own also. These four really worked out for me - how they do their magic for you too!
