Thank you to all those who made our 2012 Senior Expo a success!
We are pleased to inform you that attendance for our 7th annual Senior Expo, held March 6th at Pearkes Rec Centre in Victoria, was up slightly from 2011, demonstrating the continued support from the senior community. With a steady stream of visitor traffic from start to finish, exhibitors found many opportunities to engage seniors in meaningful conversation.
Without the support of both the seniors and the business community, we could not make this show happen year after year.

We want to thank all the businesses and organizations that bought exhibit space. As in years past, we had a sold-out show.
We especially want to thank Changing Needs Remodeling and Saanich Recreation for their generous sponsorship.
Ambrosia Catering provided some hearty meal options, including fresh made-to-order sandwiches and Ceasar salad, combined with a very tasty chili.
Chefs from four Victoria senior residences brought the day to a close with a sampling of their favorite appetizers. Congratulations to Legion Manor chef, Ullrich Geissler-Tilly, winner of the People's Choice Award for Best Appetizer, as voted by 200 tasters.
Our lively all-day entertainment, emceed by Senior Living columnist Pat Nichol, fit our Las Vegas theme to the tee. Flashback Freddy and The Honeycrooners were a big hit, tempting a number of couples to take to the dance floor in front of the stage. Al Greenwood, with his tribute to Red Skelton, brought back many memories, and Laughter Yoga instructor Gene Furbee left all of us with smiles on our faces. The Victoria Ballroom Dance Society demonstrated several dance styles and invited participation in their mini line-dancing workshop.
Saanich Volunteers did an excellent job, helping us staff the check-in, admission and information tables. Special thanks to Heather Featherstone for her coordination efforts.
Event planners Lesley Patten and Caroline Weatherhead of Every Aspect Management brought the whole show together with ease and finesse. We want to thank them for helping to make this the best show yet, and for making the biggest problems seem small because of their expertise and diplomacy.
BUSINESSES The Senior Expo is an opportunity for you to market to the exploding senior demographic. We invite you to participate at this one day event and meet our Senior Living readers face to face.
