The Sorcerer - Gilbert & Sullivan Society

The premier production of "The Sorcerer" opened in 1877, and continues to delight audiences 133 years later. Heralding what was to become a lifelong collaboration between librettist, W.S Gilbert famed for his inspired lyrics and composer Sir Arthur Sullivan for his continuous outpouring of unforgettable melodies, the opera can be said to have immediately struck a major chord with musical theatre audiences of the day.
