St. John's, Cobble Hill 125th Anniversary - Vintage Hat-making Workshop
South Vancouver Island
Thu. May 3rd, 2012 11:00am - 4:00pm
You are invited to come and exchange ideas with others on decorating a vintage/garden hat or make a fascinator head piece that you can wear to 125th Anniversary Gala on Saturday, June 2nd or to The Ole Tyme Country Fair on Saturday, June 23rd or to church on Sunday. Joining us from Vancouver is Ilona Marshal, hat-make extraordinairel. Ilona has been designing and selling hats for past 10 years. She volunteers and leads workshops in making hats and fascinators. It is her passion. Her hats have been worn to Governor’s Teas, Horse and Yacht races and for special events. Ilona is bringing some materials and supplies.
Please bring:
- an existing hat to decorate
- silk flowers, lace, ribbon, bits of beading, etc. We will have some supplies on hand.
- glue gun if you have one; scissors
- a brown bag lunch (we will supply coffee/tea and dessert)
Admission is by donation to cover ferry fare.
