Selkirk Waterfront Festival

South Vancouver Island

Sat. May 29th, 2010 10:00am - 12:00pm

The Selkirk Waterfront Festival is a free, family-friendly event that takes place along
the beautiful Selkirk Waterfront each year.
A family fun zone, live entertainment, an international food café and a large
vendor's market will all be part of the fun. Our international café will include tasty traditional
cooking from around the world. Authentic Italian pizza baked on-site in a wood-fired oven, plus
Jamaican patties, Mexican tacos and Belgian waffles will all be available to satisfy a growling
stomach. Live entertainment will include the Victoria Drumming Orchestra, Bučan Bučan, the
Ocean Rain Chinese Dancers and Salsa Dancing! Kids and adults alike will be able to try out
African Drumming in the festival's interactive workshop area.
Daisy the Cow from Island Farms, Marty from the Salmon Kings, Crunch the Carrot and Cooper the Bear will all be at the Selkirk Waterfront Festival, to help everyone celebrate in style! Event sponsors include Tim Hortons(title sponsor), The City of Victoria, Times Colonist, C-Fax & Kool Radio, A-Channel, Island Parent, CFUV, Peninsula Coop, the Great Canadian Dollar Store, Travelodge Victoria, Pizza Prima Strada, Ellice Recycle, Glo Europub, ArcPrint, The Optimist Club of Victoria and Western-1 Rentals.
If you are in the mood for a unique shopping experience, you will enjoy our large vendor's
market. Hand-crafted jewelry, locally made items, and beautiful imports from across the world
will be available. Community non-profit organizations will also be on-hand to provide
information about important services and initiatives in Greater Victoria.
The Selkirk Waterfront Festival experience wouldn't be complete without face painting, balloon
twists, a tattoo station and a craft zone! A 50 foot tall inflated slide, an electric swing and an
obstacle course will all be available in the family fun zone. There will be plenty of fun, and
something for everyone! Want to know more about the Selkirk Waterfront Festival? Call the
