"The Absolute Beginner Acrylic Painting Workshop"

This one-day workshop, with artist Linda Findlay on Saturday, November 7th from 10:00am - 4:00 pm (half hour lunch break) is aimed at those who have always wanted to paint but feel intimidated.

Starting at the very beginning, students will learn the basics about acrylic paint including how to mix basic colours, how to use brushes and which brushes are best for each technique, the pros and cons of various painting surfaces, where and how to use gesso, and a brief introduction to mediums and gels. The aim of this workshop is to learn some basic skills about working with paint and to provide encouragement by demystifying the medium and its tools.

The workshop will take the format of discussion, question and answer, instructor demonstrations and student practice through making samples of various painting techniques. Workshop supplies are included in the price of $55.
