Lower Lonsdale Fall Festival

The Lower Lonsdale Business Association invites you to come out and celebrate the 7th Annual Lower Lonsdale Fall Festival on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at its NEW location, The Shipyards at the foot of Lonsdale Avenue, from 11:00am to 4:00pm.

The festival is a fun FREE community event that offers something for the entire family to enjoy including two performance stages! Shipbuilders’ Square stage will feature 2010 Juno Award nominees Bobs & Lolo as well as another popular children’s performer Shé, plus The Rogue Messengers Band, the Lynn Canyon Band and Deanna Knight & the Hot Club of Mars. The Promenade stage will feature a cooking demo with Chef Mina from A Moveable Feast Catering, fall garden demonstrations, dance performances by Perform Art Studios and Vanleena Dance Academy as well as other fun local entertainment. There will also be free Royal Express Train rides through the pumpkin patch, face painting, balloon creations, roving entertainment and reptiles!!

Shipbuilders’ Square will also be packed with displays and activities from local merchants and members of the Lower Lonsdale Business Association. Back by popular demand is the “who bakes the best pie” contest as well as prizes awarded for home grown produce. This year’s featured pie will be “pumpkin”. So we encourage you to show off your 10 foot long zucchini or fifty pound pumpkin as well as your favorite pumpkin pie recipe! Produce and pies can be dropped off Sunday September 18th between 9:00am and noon at the Information Tent. All entries will be on display from noon to 2:00pm and judging will take place at 2:00pm. Winners will be announced from the Shipbuilders’ Square stage at 3:00pm.
