Where to stay in Palm springs if you do not golf?

I am a senior looking to rent a condo for an extended stay in Palm springs, and I am looking to take part in some social activities, but I am not a big golfer, so I wasn't planning on visiting a country club. Does anyone have any suggestions for a senior-friendly resort or community in Palm springs where I might find some planned activities or fitness classes?
