Her daughter Judy, now 59, travelled to India in 1998 for the first time since she left her birthplace almost 50 years earlier. When she returned from her trip, she realized that her account of India was the perfect ending to her mother's unpublished memoir. Janice Stevens used to drive past the Royal Towers Hotel in New Westminster back in the mid-1980s and, every time she did, she noticed the sign, which belonged to a business called Dance City.
