Making a World of Difference

Amnesty International is a worldwide movement of over two million "ordinary" people who work together to achieve extraordinary results. Each day, we stand in solidarity with - and help protect - individuals and communities around the world whose human rights are under attack. Amnesty members come from many different cultures and backgrounds. What unites us is our determination to build a world where all people live in dignity, security and freedom.

For nearly 50 years, Amnesty International has worked impartially to promote and protect the fundamental human rights of all people. These universal values include freedom of conscience and belief and the right not to be tortured. Winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, Amnesty International tirelessly researches and campaigns on behalf of human dignity and justice worldwide. We also promote public awareness of the full range of human rights, as set out in international treaties that the world has promised to abide by.
